FAQs
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I have to order every week/month? Is this a subscription?
No, absolutely not. We refill only what you need and deliver when you need it.
What’s the latest I can place an order?
We kindly ask that orders are placed 2 pm the day before scheduled delivery day for your area.
Do you deliver to my area?
Please check the delivery section of ‘How It Works’. We have divided the city up into areas and delivery days and hope to add more as we grow! If you don’t see your area and you’re within 3 miles of the city centre, drop us a note hello@restorebath.com and we will do our best to help.

When do you deliver?
We aim to deliver our RE.STORE bags to your doorstep between 6-8 am (like the milk round) so everyone has their orders before work. You’ll receive confirmation that it has been delivered.
Is there a delivery fee?
Orders over £25 are packed and delivered for free, under that amount there is a £3 flat fee charged for packing and delivery.
How will my order arrive?
Your ordered products will arrive in the bottles you have selected, in one of our RE.STORE BATH jute bags. Depending on the contents, the bag may also contain some recycled (and recyclable) packing paper to keep your bottles safe. Your bottles will have recyclable aluminium caps. Any trigger sprays or pumps purchased will be in your bag ready for you to insert at home.
Can I collect my order instead?
If you would like to use RE.STORE with your own bottles, we offer a click, drop and collect service. See our ‘HOW IT WORKS’ page for easy instructions. Your can order as normal and once confirmed, drop your bottles, and return to collect your order at the RE.STORE HQ (currently a Wednesday before 12 noon).
Is plastic prohibited in your online shop?
No it isn't. We think of ourselves as a LOW-WASTE store. We are not 100% plastic-free nor are we plastic haters. We just believe that plastic should no longer be thought of or available as single-use or used unnecessarily if there is an alternative. In fact if you have plastic items and containers, you should continue to use them as much as you can before you try and recycle them.
Do you use sustainable packaging?
We certainly try our best! Our jute bags are used on repeat every time we deliver, so we ask that customers put out their empties for us to collect in their RE.STORE bags. Jute is a natural fibre. Our supplier @Gojuteltd is Fairtrade and a member of Sedex (a group that ensures ethical performance in supply chains) and they’re Ecocert certified too.
Our bottles will also be used on repeat (once they have been cleaned) for as long as they’re in tip-top condition.
The stickers on the base of the bottles are printed on a clear material, made from sustainably sourced wood pulp, and are 100% biodegradable.
Our bottles are 500ml & 1000ml glass and we have made a 500 ml PET option available for those wishing not to use glass in their bathroom. Yikes, plastic you say? Yes - but it is recycled and will be refilled and used again and again saving shop-bought, single-use plastics! Obviously, we would prefer all our bottles to be reused and not recycled, but in case they don’t make it back to us here at RE.STORE then they can be widely recycled. There are some funky new packaging options but our local waste infrastructure doesn’t quite exist to recycle it.
Some of our suppliers send us paper-wrapped goods, we keep this paper and you may find your bottles re-wrapped in it. Feel free to use it again.
We try and buy all our packaging as locally as possible.
I recycle, why do I need to refill?
Recycling is something we have all adopted as part of our weekly habits. The problem with plastic is that hardly any of it gets recycled. In fact, only 9% of plastic has ever been recycled. Horrendous. Non recycled plastic ends up in landfill or in our oceans, where it pollutes our environment for hundreds, or even thousands, of years. By refilling and reusing our bottles and containers again and again we are reducing the volume of plastic and microplastics reaching landfill and oceans. Simple.
I don't want glass bottles in the bathroom, do you have an alternative ?
Yes we do, For many reasons people may prefer not to have glass but still tackle excess waste by using refills. For this reason we offer a 500ml PET bottle which is recycled, can be recycled and looks like amber glass. All attachments still fit the PET bottles.
Wait, don’t you use plastic attachments?
As yet, we haven’t found a way to clean and re-use the pumps and sprays successfully nor are there any viable non-plastic options available. In the meantime, please hold onto your own pumps and sprays to re-use with your own products. There is a blog post on how to clean your attachments – though if they are going into more of the same product in a refilled bottle, they don’t need cleaning.
How do you clean the bottles?
Once the bottle is empty, we proceed to wash, sterilise, dry them and voila! Squeaky clean and ready to be used again and again. When the bottles are chipped or in a condition we wouldn’t expect to reuse, they are recycled. We currently anticipate each glass bottle can be used up to 50 times . The PET bottles a little less .
Can I keep my bottles?
Yes of course you can. You are welcome to order more the next time you shop for your refills. They’re perfect for reusing lots of products in your home.
Are you products organic?
All the brands we work with differ in their certifications. Some of the brands we offer are organic, some use organic ingredients - please check the information section for each product. One important thing to note is that for many small independent brands, certifications are incredibly expensive and cost prohibitive. We have however assessed each brand we work with to ensure it meets our high standards.
Are your products vegan?
At the moment, all of our liquid refills and soap products are vegan.
Are your products tested on animals?
Absolutely NEVER.
Will you be adding more brands and products ?
Yes indeed. Our business model was turned slightly upside down due to Covid-19 and we have focused on providing refills to lovely customers like you via delivery. We are always on the hunt for new brands that can meet our sustainable and ethical standards. If you are a brand and would like to join RE.STORE BATH please drop us a note at hello@restorebath.com
Do you make the products in your bottle?
No. Our products are made by the brilliant companies and individuals you see on the pages of the website - check out our Meet The Maker page for a closer look at these clever, creative principled folk. We focus on being the bridge between amazing brands and thoughtful consumers. We enjoy working with brands who share our values and are committed to making the planet a better place.

How do you try and reduce waste as a business ?
- We try to think consciously about all the items we use as a business. We source our products from as close to home as possible and from within the UK unless part of supporting a charity coalition initiative or similar.
- Our large volume liquid refills are delivered in packaging that is returned to and re-used by our sustainable suppliers in a closed-loop system. We wish more businesses operated like this.
- We reuse the containers and packaging our products are made and transported in.
- We work with companies who respond to our requests for minimal or no packaging and continue to lobby those that don’t yet.
- We put the majority of our information online rather than printing brochures or leaflets which reduces paper and other physical waste.
- We use minimal labelling and our base labels are 100% biodegradable.
- This isn't a complete or conclusive list of RE.STORE’s waste reducing strategies. Low waste or zero waste living is an evolution and we are committed to learning how we can do better. If you have information to share and/or ideas please contact us.
Hey, we make something we think would sit brilliantly in the RE.STORE, what should we do?
Amazing! We always love to talk to people working in the same space and with similar values and ambitions as us. Drop us a line at hellorestorebath@gmail.com and we would love to connect.
What are your ambitions?
We want to support those working to reduce plastic and tackle climate change. We'd like to partner with environmental and ecological organisations and contribute towards re-wilding. We want to serve our local community and commit to spending time educating young people in our area about the things they can do to grow up with a ‘planet-first’ mindset.
We have begun working with MYFOREST.EARTH planting trees and donating to offset our car mileage carbon footprint. We also donate to Stand For Trees who work to protect existing rainforests and woodlands around the world.
